Eight systems. The same checklist, every time.
Every InspectMyCar inspection runs through the same structured categories below — pulled straight from our real inspection checklist — so the result depends on the car, not on who happened to look at it.
Exterior & Lights
Body panels, paint, bumpers, trim and glass for rust, accident repair, or mismatched paint — plus every headlight, signal, and brake light.
Engine & Under Hood
Belts, hoses, battery, drive belts and an OBD diagnostic scan to catch fault codes that wouldn't show up on a test drive.
Brakes
Pads, rotors, calipers and brake lines on all four corners, plus how the brakes actually feel and perform during the road test.
Tires & Wheels
Tread depth and wear pattern on all four tires — uneven wear is often the first sign of a suspension or alignment problem.
Under the Vehicle
Frame, suspension, steering components, CV axle boots, shocks, struts, and the exhaust system, checked for rust and leaks.
Fluids
Engine oil, brake fluid, coolant and washer fluid — and we flag clearly if anything (like transmission fluid) wasn't accessible to check.
Interior
Water damage, odours, windows, locks, seatbelts, airbag and dashboard warning lights, infotainment, and climate control.
Road Test
How the car actually drives — power, shifting, steering pull, unusual noises, and how it handles at speed.
Every finding gets a status — and a price.
Each of the 8 categories above gets a clear status in your report:
Anything flagged comes with a plain-English explanation and a realistic repair cost range, so you know exactly what you're negotiating with — not just that "something's wrong."
| Priority | Item | Est. Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Address soon | Exhaust leak | $100–$400 |
| Address soon | Wheel alignment | $80–$120 |
| Routine | Cabin air filter | $20–$50 |
